Obituary

Odile Pongnon 94, a resident of Everett and formerly of Haiti passed away in her home surrounded by the love and adoration of her daughter and granddaughter on February 18. Odile was born on July 20, 1925 the only daughter of the late Luxy and Lucia (Prampin) Pongnon. Odile and her husband worked together in Haiti where he made wooden caskets and Odile being a seamstress made the inside of the caskets. In Haiti, Odile was known as Madame Eber Boisaubin. Odile emigrated to the United States 35 years ago to help her family. She was a woman of great faith. Odile was one of the first Haitian members of the Immaculate Conception Church. Her family describes her as always full of life and loving every minute that she spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Pierre Boisaubin of Cambridge, Daniel Boisaubin of Everett, Yves Boisaubin of Dorchester and Marie Carolle Boisaubin-Maitre of Everett and also 13 grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Odile is pre-deceased by her both her brothers Wiener and Weber Pongnon, her daughter Josette Toussaint and her grandson, Jermain Boisaubin.

Services will be held on Saturday February 29 with a brief visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the Murphy OHara Funeral Home 519 Broadway followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church at 10 am. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
