John R Eagan Gaitan, a proud Dorchester native, passed away suddenly at the Massachusetts General Hospital on February 11, 2017.  Born on October 7, 1943, he was the youngest of eight children of the late Hubert and Dorothy (Cutter) Eagan. He and his long-time partner of 41 years, Armondo Eagan Gaitan resided in the Historic John W. McCormack house for many years. John along with Armando loved watching movies, reading and traveling internationally. He was the youngest brother of the late Marion, Lorraine, William, Alice, Thomas, Mildred and Francis. He is survived by his beloved husband Armando M. Eagan Gaitan, by in-laws Abraham and Ester Chavez, Alfredo Gaitan and Francisco Gaitan of San Antonio, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews and their children of Boston and San Antonio.  A memorial service will be announced to celebate and to remember the life of John Robert Eagan Gaitan.
