Effie "Bunny" (McDonough) MullowneyOctober 23, 1925 ~ December 18, 2016 (age 91)
Bunny Mullowney 91, a life-long Everett resident passed away on Sunday December 18 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Bunny was born in Everett on October 23, 1925, one of six children of the late George and Dora (Peterson) McDonough. Effie McDonough who was known as “Bunny” was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School Class of 1943. Bunny and her late husband Bill made their home in Everett and raised their 4 sons. Bunny was not only a wonderful homemaker but a loving mother to her sons and her husband Bill for over 65 years . Bunny and Bill’s home was always warm, welcoming and filled with laughter. Bunny loved telling stories and sharing stories with family and friends. Her motto was “Always leave them laughing” and she certainly did. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they loved her. Bunny will truly be missed by everyone she met because you could not help falling in love with this woman. Bunny was the loving wife to her late husband Bill and caring mother of John D. Mullowney Sr. and his wife Christine of Everett, Scott and his wife Priscilla of Stoneham, William of Everett and the late Michael. Bunny was the sister to Agnes MacRae of Falmouth, Dora Glancy of Everett and the late Margaret Anderson, John McDonough and Daniel McDonough. Funeral Services on Thursday at the Murphy O’Hara Funeral Home 519 Broadway Everett followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church at 11am. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
